We offer a variety of alteration services for wedding dresses, including but not limited to: hemming, taking in or letting out seams, adjusting straps, adding or removing sleeves, and bustle modifications.
The amount of time needed for an alteration can vary depending on the complexity of the alteration and our current workload. We will be able to provide you with an estimate once we see your gown and discuss the details with you.
Yes, we are happy to help with alterations for dresses purchased at other stores. If you only want to get en estimate, we are happy to help. The fee for estimate is $75.
We will do our best to accommodate rush orders, but please note that additional fees may apply.
The cost of alterations will depend on the specific alterations needed for your dress. We will be able to provide you with an estimate once we see your gown and discuss the details with you.
Please bring your dress in a garment bag and with any undergarments, shoes, or accessories you plan to wear on your wedding day. This will allow us to ensure that the alterations are done to the appropriate length and fit.
We recommend scheduling your alteration appointment at least 2-3 months before your wedding date to ensure ample time for alterations to be completed.

Yes, we can do measurements for $50 fee. Keep in mind, we are not responsible for the outcome of the dress ordered elsewhere.
We recommend making arrangements for a final steaming/pressing on the big day, as your dress will become wrinkled once it’s placed in a garment bag for transportation. Many hotels and venues have steamers available for your use, so it is a good idea to check with them first before purchasing your own. If you want us to steam and prepare your Dress for a Big Day an extra charge will be applied (Range is $150-250).
To receive a free quote for your alterations, please email photos (front and back) and/or a link to your dress, along with your wedding date and a list of anticipated alterations (such as shorten straps, take in sides, take in waist, hem, etc.) to ido@andsomethingblue.com
Up to 2-3 appointments are included, as this is typically sufficient for our seamstress to achieve the final result. If the Bride requires additional appointments or further alterations beyond this, an additional charge will apply. Fee for an additional appointment is $150.
You can drop the Dress at our store and get cleaned and preserved back to your home for a fee of $400 (including shipment).
